Movers Specialty Service, Inc. Named to “Top 100 Workplaces 2011”

Montgomeryville, Pennsylvania – March 21, 2011 - Movers Specialty Service, Inc. (MSS) has been recognized by the Philadelphia Inquirer, Daily News and Philly.com as one of top 100 places to work in the Delaware Valley region. MSS was favorably ranked based on survey responses provided by MSS employees.  The news organization announced the “Top Workplaces 2011” in a special section of their March 20 publication.  MSS was ranked 27th among companies with less than 150 employees.

“Making the Top Workplaces 2011 list is especially gratifying because our own employees voted MSS as their premier Employer of Choice,” said Brian Jensen, Vice President Human Resources and Talent Acquisition for the Montgomeryville-based relocation specialty services firm. The 2011 Top Workplaces distinction is earned through employee survey results. The Philadelphia Inquirer, Daily News and Philly.com enlisted a survey service to ask employees to rate their companies and their bosses by responding to a series of statements.

The anonymous surveys were conducted by a third party to encourage employees to be candid when responding to statements such as “I have confidence in the leader of this organization”, “My manager listens to me”, and “My pay is fair for the work I do”.  To further ensure integrity of survey responses, employee participation was voluntary.

Fully 98% of all MSS employees chose to participate – one of the highest response rates of all employers surveyed.  The average response across all companies was only 56% according to the Inquirer. MSS employees listed a number of reasons for loving their workplace, including their “passion for excellent customer service”,  “(the) great benefits”, “flexibility to balance work and personal life”, and MSS’ status as “best in our industry”. One respondent stated:

“This is the best company I have worked for and I enjoy coming to work everyday. The people I work with are great and MSS feels like a second family to me. I would not trade my job for anything.”
